You Won't Believe What Tokyo Just Did to its Public Toilets! The Japanese Once Again Brought the Whole World Down to their Knees!

The Japanese are masters of creative solutions! At the end of August, this year, in one of Tokyo's districts (Shibuya), transparent toilets were installed. They can be used in two parks (Yoyogi Fukamachi Mini Park and Haru-no-Ogawa Community Park).

Under "THE TOKYO TOILET" project, which was launched by the Nippon Foundation in August 2020, a number of comfortable and accessible public toilets around Tokyo's Shibuya Ward were installed.

The Nippon Foundation, with the cooperation of Shibuya City, is spearheading the initiative to install toilets that anyone can comfortably use, regardless of gender, age, or mobility. The effort is made with an eye to "creating a society that accepts diversity," raising awareness of and attention to people with different needs. 

The idea itself aims to change the negative perception of public toilets. They usually appear dirty, neglected places and discourage us from entering. Secondly, in the back of our heads, we are worried that the toilet may be busy.

There are two things we worry about the most when entering a public toilet, especially those located at a parks

The first is cleanliness, and the second is whether anyone is inside, Using the latest technology, the exterior glass turns opaque when locked
