In some cities around the world a real plague are stray dogs. In Thailand activists came up with an idea how to provide shelter to unwanted animals.
Recycling Billboards
According to estimates, between 100,000 and 300,000 stray dogs live on the streets of Bangkok alone. There is a similar situation in other Thai cities. A group of social activists from Stand for Strays organization is aware of this alarming situation. They decided to do something to provide animals with shelter from rain and scorching sun. This is how they created folding kennels made of unused billboards.
Help Dogs
The construction resembles a tent and is very simple in use. The kennel should be attached to the wall and then its lower part should be opened. Then a platform will slide out, which serves as a pet bed. Dog shelters are an excellent patent for recycling advertising billboards. They do not take up much space, and after being folded they fit flat against the wall. Plus, they don't disfigure the landscape.
Dry Shelter
The platform used as a bed is placed above the ground and provides a dry and safe place for dogs to sleep. Additionally, food can be placed on it. Kennels have already been placed in Thai cities. If a passerby notices a stray dog, he can easily put up a "tent" and put something to eat on the platform.
Stand for Strays organization has been working to improve the lives of stray animals since 2012
