5 Morning Habits That Pump All the Energy Out of You
Some of us feel as if we have worked through the night when we wake up, and those few hours of sleep have not regenerated the body at all. If this is the case, take a look at your morning habits, which may be responsible for your lack of energy right after getting out of bed.

#1 "Five more minutes..."
I bet most of use the SNOOZE function on our phones. We just want to sleep a little longer and stay in bed at least 5 minutes more. If you do that, it might mean you suffer from chronic sleep deprivation. It is estimated that an adult needs to sleep from 6 to 9 hours per day. If they sleep less, their general well-being and performance drops dramatically (worse concentration, creativity problems, worse metabolism, memory problems). Staying up late at weekends could be just as detrimental as it disturbs our body clock. Our bodies love routines and regular lifestyle. That is why next time you hear your alarm clock, Just get up. I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s always worth trying!
#2 ‘What’s the news this morning?’
The first thing many people do when they wake up is reach for the phone. According to research conducted by Joanna Kleinman, PhD, a psychologist from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, this can translate into a bad mood. An influx of messages just after waking up is not good for our newly awakened brain, and overloading it with information (often negative) can be a source of stress. Therefore, in the morning it is better to give yourself a few minutes to wake up quietly.
#3 ‘No time for breakfast!’
Many people have their first meal during their break at work, because they want to sleep as long as possible in the morning and have no intention of wasting time on eating. This habit negatively affects our intellectual abilities, as well as the quality of work. The body simply needs the ingredients contained in a healthy, balanced breakfast to function well.
#4 Breakfast rich in simple sugars
This is even worse than not eating breakfast at all. Foods high in simple sugars are mainly carbonated drinks and sweets. Croissants, muffins and sugary cereals can give you a lot of energy very quickly, but only for a short time. After a breakfast full of sweets, as early as before lunch you will feel sleepy, tired and hungry.
#5 ‘I’ll go jogging later on.’
Starting your day with exercise is a great way to get your body moving. Morning activity improves our concentration, oxygenates the body and is a real energy boost. During physical exercise, the level of endorphins (happiness hormone) increases, so all negative thoughts will be gone.
