Flannel Shirt Dress

Quick sew an awesome dress out of daddy's checked shirt.
Since Anya was born I am interested only in quick, simple and effective solutions. The less time I spend on arranging stuff the more time I spend with her, and it is priceless. Due to this fact I try to prepare everything I need to make, wash, cook or write, the previous evening. The same it is with my clothes that I am going to wear the next day (usually 3 sets in case of Anya’s milk returns).

I have been wearing the same clothes over and over again lately, and to be honest I am bit fed up with this. I seriously need something new, creative, cheap and handmade. I used to love flannel shirts so much when I was a teenage girl that while buying them for my Dad’s birthday I actually was buying them for myself. Everything from the color, size and type of fabric, had to be the way I liked. Although my Dad knew he was going to get another shirt, he also knew he wouldn’t even have a chance to wear it, at least once.

Now I am a grown up myself, stopped buying flannel shirts for my Dad, but still in love with them. There is something cosy and cute in this type of material. I would even say flannel is kind of sexy, (reminds me of warm, country style). Since it is summer, and the best time for wearing dresses – truly short ones, I would like to try some sewing. As I stated above, it must be quick and easy. Flannel Shirt Dress I think, is perfect for me. What do you think about the idea of turning a shirt into a summer dress? Read all details about this awesome project I’ve found in the link below and share your opinion or finished dress on our facebook.
