An instruction is quite useful information, which makes us know what to do. It is worse if it contains some context or word that can be taken very literally.
Terrible misjudgment of own abilities? Sometimes it is such a simple instruction that gets complicated beyond an end. Sometimes we do it just for laughs, taking a mick perhaps.
