Jad Issa is a Syrian with Down syndrome. He brought up a son who became a doctor. It shows that people with disadvantages can be successful parents just as well.
A father with Down syndrome
Jad Issa is a very special person. In spite of the Down syndrome, together with his wife (she hasn’t got this genetic condition) they decided to have a child. They finally had a son whom they called Sader. The man is already adult and he works as a dentist.
Sader is really moved when he talks about his childhood. His parents cared a lot about him and they gave him all their love. He says that Jad has always been a fantastic father. When he was a kid they would spend lots of time playing, wrestling and generally having fun together. Sader says his parents loved him so much that he felt like he was spoilt.
A job for the son
Jad really wanted his son to be properly educated. That is why he worked very hard in a mill and saved money so that Sader could go to university. His devotion and sacrifice brought about the desired effect. Sader became a dentist and it was his father who inspired him to pursue this career.
A happy marriage
Jad has always supported his son, be that financially or emotionally. In spite of his condition he broke all possible stereotypes. Moreover, he is in a very happy relationship with his wife. Sader admits that his parents are common people, yet they love each other a lot. They understand each other’s needs and spend long hours talking and walking together. That is why they enjoy impeccable reputation among their neighbors.
