Research shows that adults spend 7 – 19 hours per week cleaning their houses. Of course the figures vary depending on age, social status, kind of house and cleaning methods applied. Anyway, this is the time we all wish we could spend doing something else. Let us advise you how can you make your cleaning easier.
#1 Socks to clean the window blinds
An old sock could be a perfect tool to do it once you put it on your hand. Trust me, there is no better way to do it!
#2 Aluminium foil to clean ovenproof dishes
Make a ball of the foil, pour washing-up liquid all over it and wash it!
#3 Ketchup to make things shine
To make brass surfaces shine, apply some ketchup and spread it evenly with a sponge with round moves. Then use a cloth to clean it. Finally wash it. In more difficult cases add some salt.
#4 Baking soda and vinegar as window cleaners
The dirt and dust often accumulates in window edges and cracks. This mixture handles that very well. Apply it and let it sit there for 5 – 10 minutes. Then, using a toothbrush, rub it well. Finally remove everything with a cloth.
#5 Paper towels and vinegar to clean the toilet
Cleaning the toilet will be much easier if you do the following: soak the towels in vinegar, lay the inside of the toilet with them and let them sit there for a few hours. Finally take them out.
#6 Toothpaste to make things shine
Apply with a sponge, rub in, leave for a moment and rinse with warm water
#7 Rubber gloves
Use rubber gloves to remove animal hair from soft furniture.
#8 Shaving cream to clean stainless steel
Interestingly, it also works ac carpet-cleaning agent.
#9 Walnuts to get rid of furniture scratches
To cover minor scratches on wooden furniture, polish them with walnuts or Brazil nuts as they contain natural oils. Then polish the surface with soft dry cloth.
#10 Alcohol to make surfaces shine
Alcohol is a perfect agent to polish surfaces of stainless steel and such devices as microwave ovens, kettles or toasters. You only need a few drops (of vodka for example) and a soft cloth.
#11 Trays and containers and keep your drawers organised
Drawers equipped with trays, boxes and other organising gadgets are always much easier to clean. You won’t have to spend so long and in the first place there will be no need to do it so often.
#12 The inner side of the door to store things
It is a good place for items that you want to have at hand.
#13 Vertical arrangement
Towels and other items stored in drawers should be arranged vertically and in rows. This is the simplest way to let you find things more easily.
#14 Pillow cases
Those had better be kept in sets or else you will have to spend hours looking for the matching bit.
#15 Storing toilet paper
Though designed for documents, it also works very well storing toilet paper. It looks so much better now!
