When you arrange your rooms, the easiest path is to pick all furniture from a single collection. There is no way the chairs, the table and the chest of drawers won’t match. Following this principle is easy, but there are some rules and stereotypes that are worth breaking. Here are some that you should forget right now!

    #1 Bedroom furniture

This is your nest so this is where you want to fill comfy and homely. It doesn’t mean though that you need a pile a lot of furniture and accessories. Sometimes less means more. That is why whenever you arrange your bedroom, pick up all those accessories that will give your bedroom the feeling of cosiness. So perhaps sometimes it will make much more sense to forget expansive cabinets and go for some wooden crates instead?

    #2 White walls

White walls used to be associated with empty apartments or hospitals. Fortunately this is gone for good. White walls can really look stylish as long as the accessories are in the right place. Too many white additions may really make the room look ‘sterile’. Too many accessories along with dark curtains, on the other hand, can be overwhelming.

    #3 Matching sofas and armchairs

A lot of people tend to buy furniture sets only, following the rule that the sofa must be the same as the armchairs. You don’t have to follow this principle! Why not go off the beaten track and buy armchairs from another set? What really matters is the fact that they must look similar to something else in the same room.

    #4 Cliché bathroom tiles

Bathroom tiles are available in such a wide range of patterns now. Do you really need to choose the primitive patterns or just boring plain white?

Forget the dark ones with golden pattern. Go for the bright Morocco style!

#5 Two chair sets, one table

Nobody says your dining room has to be boring. The pieces don’t have to come from a single set. Go crazy! Choose some intensive colours and interesting patterns. Don’t be afraid to experiment!

    #6 Furniture along the wall

A lot of people prefer placing the furniture along the walls so that they have more space. While it is true, this principle really works especially in case of small rooms. If your room is spacious, why not break the rule and put the couch in the middle?

#7 Large furniture and large accessories

Large armrests and large backrests are not that popular now. Simple shapes and small dimensions are much trendier. Choosing your furniture remember one important rule: the smaller your room is, the smaller your armchairs, couches and tables have to be.

    #8 Concrete is too rough

There are a number of ways to use concrete in your flat. Though its appearance might scare away some of us, it does look trendy. It’s biggest advantage is the fact that it is waterproof. You can use it everywhere, including your bathroom.

    #9 Huge net curtains

If you are really keen, it is easy to arrange your flat without net curtains. The bigger they are, the more light they stop and more dust they collect. Believe me, your room will look so much better without them.

#10 Child’s room must be in a specific colour

You don’t need to rely on a single colour while decorating your child’s bedroom. It’s been scientifically proven that a child growing up in a brown, black&white or white room develops much better. It can be decorated with posters, toys and other pictures.
