You might get an impression that technology has reached the peak of its potential and we are rather unlikely to see anything new. The inventors, however, do not seem to be bothered about it. Every single day new gadgets surprise us. Their only objective is to make our lives even easier and even more pleasant.
These technologies have been introduced in the last few years.
#1 A tracker that won’t let you lose your keys anymore
Tile Mate is a tiny finder that you can attach to any desired item. It is equipped with a Bluetooth sensor – the moment someone steals your wallet or keys, you will be notified immediately. This is also how it works when you leave a place and forget to take the item with you.
The device is connected with your smartphone or a tablet and a dedicated app monitors the status of the items it controls. When Tile Mate is on, you can call it pressing a button in the app. All you need to do then is to follow the tune the tracker plays. The device is already available.
#2 A writing robot
Scribit is a robot assisting interior design. It looks like a metal platform which is suspended on two cables. You can fix it onto the window frame or on a wall. The robot will paint the surfaces in a semi-automatic mode. Once activated, it will use the cables to pull itself all over the surface of the wall. It has got four markers of different colour and an eraser.
The device is controlled by a smartphone application that sets the route of the robot to match the pattern it has to write. All the user has to do is to project the image that has to be drawn and limit the size of the ‘canvas’ so that Scribit does not go too far.
#3 Glasses that block screens
A lot of people get annoyed with advertisement that is literally everywhere – billboards, newspapers, smartphone apps and, of course, TVs. This is what inspired Ivan Cash and Scott Blew to develop special device called IRL Glasses. They work as a filter – a polarising layer coats the lenses not only protecting the uses against UV rays, but also blocking the radiation from TV sets.
This product works in case of most kinds of display, excluding smartphones and OLED matrix. The inventors have promised to improve the gadget so that all kinds of display could be blocked. They were launched in 2019. The retail price was $49.
#4 A mirror monitoring your daily workout
This combination of mirror and wall display works like an interactive fitness instructor. It enables the user to stream their workout live and receive immediate feedback from expert coaches. It allows you to keep fit at home at any time and any surrounding.
#5 Intelligent door lock
August Smart Lock allows you to control the door of your house or office by means of smartphone application using the Bluetooth technology. The application traces the door movement and makes sure that the door is locked. You can also remotely let your friends in – everything thanks to the application. The device is already available.
#6 Control armband
Myo Armband consists of rubber bands equipped with sensors. The device detects muscle impulses and learns your movement before you actually make them. The armband can be controlled from your laptop, tablet or smartphone. You can also navigate relying on your gestures only. The armband is worn on the forearm, it traces four kinds of movement and rotation on all possible planes and in all possible directions. It is really simple to use.
#7 A mirror that entertains you and helps you take care of your skin
Care OS is a mirror that recognises your gestures and face to advise you on skin care. It also lets you listen to music and take selfies. The device is based on a camera that analyses the condition of the user’s skin and recommends UV protection and ways of moisturising.
#8 Intelligent home garden
SproutsIO is an automated indoor growing system, creating perfect conditions to grow fruit, vegetables and other plants. Thanks to a dedicated software the device selects settings that automatically choose the amount of water, nutrients and light for particular plants.
What is more, the settings let you control the sweetness of the fruit and vegetables when they are ripe.
Thanks to the device, you can use as little as 2% of water that would be needed in a traditional outdoor garden. It also stimulates the plants to grow 3 times faster.
#9 Flexible TV set
OLEd is anultra-thin TV set manufactured by LG. It weighs only 2 kilos – that is why it can be fixed to the wall using magnetic pads. The colour contrast is much more spectacular and at the same time the device is much more energy-efficient then liquid crystal analogue devices.
#10 A mask with a filter
Breaze mask captures even the smallest particles threatening our life. You still experience maximum comfort and it doesn’t generate moisture as you are breathing. It is especially recommended for big cities dwellers who want to take care of their health.
