The kitchen is one of the favorite places in the entire house. It’s where we prepare meals, brew the morning coffee and have the best conversations with friends. We thought we knew it well, but it turned out that for many years it had been misusing one thing, namely the drawer under the oven.
You may, like me, keep pans, baking trays and cake pans in here, but it turns out this drawer is for something completely different!
Despite being a great place for all your kitchen accessories, it is actually what is called a “warming up drawer”.
Some of the information that comes with the appliance even states what the drawer under the oven is for. As you might guess the main purpose of this space is to keep hot food at the perfect temperature for serving.
Each dish is best consumed immediately after preparation but sometimes there is a need to wait for someone else
A cold meal that you reheat is no longer as tasty as it was in the beginning, plus it loses its nutritional properties. On the other hand, when you place a dish in a special drawer, the oven will still give off heat and keep the baked meal warm.
You have to admit, it’s a really clever solution, especially if you’re cooking dinner for your other half who often leaves work late or you’re waiting to some guests who are running late. Now you know what that space under the oven is for, so get rid of those old pans and make room to store your delicious roast!
Did you know bout this trick? Do you use it?
