An Elderly Lady Dyes Her Hair Green and Wears Green Clothes Only

A senior from USA has got her way to attract attention – some time ago she decided to wear green only and she has been consistent ever since.

Elizabeth Sweetheart(77) lives in Brooklyn, New York. Her appearances, based on her green clothes only, makes her stand out from the crowd of pedestrians.

She was born in New Scotia (Canada) and in 1964 she thumbed a lift and reached New York. She got a new job in clothes industry where she designed and sewed. In fact it was when she was 8 when her grandmother taught her how to sew and dye clothes.

She met Robert Rosenthal, her future husband, in 1965 in a Ukrainian restaurant. They got married two years later. They have been together since then although her husband is not a big fan of her favorite color.

Elizabeth has been running her design studio for 50 years, cooperating with such prominent stars of the industry as Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Ralphe Lauren or American Eagle Outlifters. It was about 20 years ago when she began to pay more attention to green. She finds it very positive, refreshing and comforting, even on a very gloomy rainy day.

Now the woman wears green clothes only. She has even dyed her hair green. Her glasses, make-up and nail are all green, too. The interior of her house, located in Carroll Gardens, part of Brooklyn, is also dominated by this color. For 40 years she has been importing a variety of green accessories to her house. These include plates, pots, vases and other decorative elements.

While walking her dog Dylan (unfortunately it’s already dead) one day, she noticed how much children and animals love nature for its juicy green. And this is when she began to turn green. She started with a few green accessories and hair highlights. Later on she started to dye green more clothes, using a variety of shades.

Elizabeth calls herself ‘The Green Lady’ and she loves taking care of her garden. She plants mint, roses and fig trees, as well as a number of yellow and pink flowers. Her husband doesn’t wear green clothes but he also buys some green things (like plates or knife stands). Elizabeth friends, knowing her passion, also buy green presents for her. Her neighbors sometimes leave some green objects on her porch, especially when they no longer need them.

The Green Lady is very popular in her neighborhood so no wonder that people ask her to have a photo together.

She has recently noticed that she prefers brighter shades. She has got a drawer which is literally filled with clothes dye. She mixes them to get the most satisfying shade.

Elizabeth claims that she has never followed fashion. Irrespective of current trends she wore platform shoes, vintage dresses, woman suits or hats decorated with ribbons and flowers. Now she simply enjoys her status of green influencer.
