Pallet Wood Flooring

Bring some pallets home and make a wooden floor!
Wooden floors are much more stylish than those made of artificial floor panels. They are also sturdier and more durable. When you desire a rustic look for your floor, there’s nothing better than the assembly of platform pallets.

Do you still keep in my Pallet Wood Front Porch I presented some time ago? The creators of A Building We Shall Go have used even more advanced idea to carpet the interior floor of their living room with pallets. The planks needed hand sanding and much more other effort. But the ton of work was worth the unique look of the floor.

If you’ve done similar work we are very proud of you. Don’t wait to show off and send the photos to our website.

You can get pallets for free in several places. You just have to either look around at some of the businesses that use them, or make some calls to see if they are free.

A good half inch wood flooring is around $3.50sq/ft and would cost me around $4,500 for just the wood. I bought grade “b” pallet wood from a guy here in Cincinnati at 1.25sq/ft. His company buys pallets and rebuilds them so the wood was already off the pallet. the pallet wood ran me around $1,050 plus 140 for the rental of a planer and jointer for the weekend. the install is free because i am doing it and both systems need a wood sub-floor so that was a wash as well. it took me about 2 weeks to do everything in my spare time and I love the way it looks and feels. It has more “emotion” than a store bought wood has. I am very pleaseed with my floor and wouldn’t have it any other way
