Heart-Shaped Tomatoes – All Steps

Turn these little tomatoes into charming and delicious hearts!

Go ahead! Use this brilliant idea to impress your beloved one first thing on Valentine's Day morning. To prepare this awesome hearts you won't need any special skills or tools. You just need to cut little tomatoes like we did and connect two half with a toothpick, and voila - tomato hearts are ready to eat. You can add some basil and mozzarella and make delicious skewers for a romantic dinner, the way of serving it's up to you!

You can also make a fletching out of a small piece of paper, thanks to this your arrow will look more like a Cupid one. We are totally charmed by this idea, in this easy way you can turn a usual meal into romantic, special moment. Don't hesitate and give it a try! What you need:


  • Scissors
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Supplies / ingredients:

  • Tomatoes
  • Toothpicks/ Skewers sticks
  • Piece of paper

Prepare all needed supplies and tools to shape your love tomatoes.


Take a small piece of paper and fold it into half, just like that!.


Cut a piece of about 2 cm long, to make the fletching for this cute, Cupid’s arrow.

Make two cuts so that it was really easy to attach the fletching to your toothpick.


Now, simply insert a toothpick into the cuts.

After you prepared your arrow, it is time to cut the tomato in the 2/3 of its length. Do it exactly like we showed on the picture and you’ll succeed for sure!

To shape your Cherry Tomato into the little heart, put the two, bigger parts together. They look like two halves of the heart, don’t they? :)


Pierce them with a toothpick, just like Cupid would.


Voilà! Romantic snack is ready to serve!
