How to wash baseball caps

Apart from detergents, baseball caps call for some specific ways of washing and drying. For example, in case of white caps they should be dried in the sun.

#1 Drying

It is only the caps with the soft visor which won’t get deformed. You need to select the hand-wash mode and put the cap on something round to dry it (for example a jar, a ball or a dummy’s head). You can also fill the crown with a towel- everything to preserve its shape.

#2 Hand-washing a baseball cap

White baseball caps and those which don’t lose color could be hand-washed. Immerse them in water with some shampoo or washing-up liquid. Rub the stains with a cloth or a brush. Finally wash them in clean water and dry them.

#3 Washing baseball caps in cold water

Caps that lose color have to be handled with care. To prevent the loss of color wash them with your hands in cold water. Don’t leave them in the water for more than 5 – 10 minutes.

#4 Washing baseball caps with imprints

Any imprints on your cap also require extra care. They have to be cleaned very carefully and only when some visible stains are present. Any space in between zirconia or studs needs to be cleaned with a toothbrush.

#5 How to wash your baseball cap in a dishwasher

Another safe way to clean your baseball cap is to put in the dishwasher. Leave it on the top tray and select the careful washing mode. If possible, go for cold water, too.
