Although most of us shudder to think about cleaning the bathroom, it doesn’t have to be such a tedious chore. Soapy bathtub, unclean toilet and tiles with the disgusting residue – one might think there is nothing worse than getting this place clean. Of course some bathrooms don’t look like that. However, even if you clean it on regular basis, bending over the toilet is not your favourite pastime.
That is why if you want impeccable order in your bathroom, have a look at a few tricks we have collected for you below.
#1 The shower hard water deposit
It is not pleasant at all to have a shower seeing the nasty stone deposit there. You can remove it using a mixture of washing-up liquid and vinegar (1:1). Scrub it well and your shower look brand new again.
#2 Clean the mirror
Although you might not pay attention, the bathroom mirror often gets dirty with toothpaste or shaving foam. Once it goes dry, it leaves nasty stains and as a result your mirror reflection is stained, too. Tap water and paper towels might leave smudges and dedicated cleaning agents are costly.
This is what you can do: make some strong black tea – use three bags. Then pour it into a spray bottle. Using a newspaper instead of paper towel clean the mirror and that’s it! No more smudges!
#3 Hard water stains
I’m sure you have seen them on your tap and other metal elements in the bathroom. They are not easy to get rid of, are they? Have you ever tried a lemon? It smells wonderful and the taps will shine again! If you don’t want the lemon scent, use white vinegar. Soak a piece of paper towel with it and leave it for 20-30 minutes.
#4 Clean the toilet
White vinegar is your ally in the war against bacteria, fungus and mould in the toilet. Not only does it clean, but it also disinfects. Pour the vinegar into the toilet, onto the seat and around it. Soak paper towel with vinegar and stuck it into the inaccessible spots. After several minutes take the paper out and scrub the toilet.
#5 Disinfect the toilet brush
Now that we are talking about cleaning the toilet, why not disinfect the most important accessory there, that is the toilet brush? Pour out the dirty water from the brush stand, then pour a cleaning agent into it. Let it sit there for a few minutes so that the brush soaks it well. Then pour it out. You can also scald the brush with boiling water – remember to do it over the toilet!
#6 Clean the toothbrush holder
Water and toothpaste together result in nasty greasy surface of the holder and its inside. Fortunately, you can easily clean it with washing-up liquid. Pour it all over and let it sit there for a few minutes. Then clean it well and wash.
