One of the main reasons why we don’t clean our houses as often as we should is the fact that we are overwhelmed by the plenty of other chores. That is why we fail to clean up – after a hard day’s work we simply have no energy to wash up the pile of dirty dishes in the sink or clean the floor. Fortunately, there are some easy tricks that can help you make your house shine like new again!
#1 Cleaning the bathroom
There is a simple solution to deal with dirty an yellowish shower tile joints. Mix half a glass of baking soda, a quarter glass of hydrogen peroxide and a teaspoonful of powdered soap. With a toothbrush apply the mixture on the joints and let it sit there for at least 20 minutes. Then, using a brush or a paper towel wash it down with warm water.
#2 Use adhesive tape
If you have a dog or a cat and you need to quickly remove their fur from the carpet, wrap some adhesive tape around your fingers and swipe the surface.
#3 Store your cleaning tools properly
Sometimes the dirtiest things at home are those that are supposed to keep it clean. That is why it is essential to store them well. Wash the sponges, brushes and clothes in very hot water so that you kill of all the bacteria and other microorganisms.
#4 Washing the floor
Keeping the floor clean is a hard thing to do, but there is a simple solution to change that. Mix six liters of hot tap water, half a teaspoon of washing-up liquid and a spoonful of white vinegar. Use the mixture to wash the floor. The washing-up liquid will remove the dirt and white vinegar will disinfect the floor. Your floors will be clean and shiny.
#5 Set your clock so that nothing distracts you
Have you ever got distracted by something while cleaning one room and in the end you moved to clean another one? It happens all the time. To prevent that, set your stopwatch for 15-20 minutes so that it will be only cleaning you will be focused on. Believe me, cleaning will never take you longer.
#6 Much fewer things
Less furniture and fewer accessories means less mess and less to clean. Buying fewer things you prevent the permanent mess and, that goes without saying, you save money. It is much easier to dust a desk top when it is not cluttered with tens of bits and pieces.
#7 Keep all things together
When you store your bedding, keep items of the same pattern together. You will save a lot of time if it is stored in complete sets.
#8 Clean toilet
Pour some of the toilet cleaning agent into the toilet brush stand. It will keep it clean and disinfected. Don’t forget to pour the water out of it on regular basis.
#9 Make a list of duties
Your life will be much easier if all the chairs are delegated to all members of the family. Ask your partner and your kids to give you a hand whenever you clean.
#10 Remember about the layers
If you put a few garbage bags onto the can, not only will it make it easier to put on another one but, most importantly, you will never drop garbage into a ‘bagless’ bin again.
