The most beautiful bulbous flowers

There are some basic things we have to remember while growing bulbous flowers:

1. Most of them can be planted in the garden as long as the spring ground frost is gone.

2. The potted ones can be planted earlier and kept inside on colder nights.

3. Before planting them, the bulb can be put in water for an hour so that it absorbs the necessary water. Bulbs lose some of their humidity while stored and therefore leaving them in water will accelerate rooting.

4. Remember to choose a sunny spot. Flowers love the sun!

#1 Dahlia

Dahlias should be planted in the second half of May.

It blooms from July to September.

Dig out the bulbs in October and store them until the next year.

#2 Freesia

Freesia can be planted from May on. Just like dahlia, it blooms from June to September.

#3 Buttercup

Buttercup can be planted at the turn of April and May It blooms from June to August. Dig out the bulbs and store them in until the next year.

#4 Zantedeschia

It can be planted from May on. It blooms from July to September. Again, bulbs to be dug out before winter.

#5 Begonia

It can be planted from the second half of May on. It blooms from July to October. In pots it blooms until first ground frost. Bulbs to be dug out before winter.
