Here you will find a list of places worth paying attention to while cleaning!

#1 Is your toilet brush always in that little holder that it came in?

Do you think that scrubbing toilet bowls with a toilet brush will solve the problem of dirt and germs? Unfortunately, you are very wrong! The brush container accumulates a huge amount of bacteria, which have great conditions for growth in a damp and closed container. However, you can significantly reduce the number of bacteria that are on it. All you have to do is pour water out of the container regularly and dry the brush before putting it back in. Remember also about systematic disinfection - everything depends on how often you use the brush, but if you do it often, disinfect the brush at least once a week. This is very important because bacteria from the container can easily spread to the brush.

#2 Another dirtiest of places at home is the toothbrush holder

The shocking fact is that your toothbrush holds over 100 million harmful bacteria. In addition to the bacteria from your mouth, your toothbrush can be cross-contaminated with bacteria from the sink or toilet, because every time you flash, some bacteria are released into the air. They can lead to diseases such as cystitis, colitis or dysbacteriosis. To avoid this, never store the toothbrush on the sink but hide it in a shelf or drawer.

Using a brush lid is also not the best solution, as bacteria accumulate more quickly in an enclosed environment.

Clean your toothbrush regularly. One of the easiest ways to disinfect a toothbrush is to keep it in mouthwash for 30 seconds or in boiling water for 2 minutes.

#3 Avoid washing dishes in cold water

If you use lukewarm or cold water for washing dishes, the washing up liquid will not be as effective as it would be in hot water.

The ideal water temperature is 10 degrees higher than the room temperature if you don't know how to check it, just use water that is not too hot for your hands.

    #4 Washing machine

You will certainly realize that a washing machine is an indispensable device in every house. You must know that a washing machine, like many other household appliances, needs regular cleaning. After pulling the washed clothes out of the washing machine, leave the door open so as not to cause moisture to build up. A dirty washing machine causes the spread of bacteria and mould spores on clothes. This is harmful to people suffering from allergies or asthma, as well people with sensitive skin. The most dirty place in the washing machine is not only the inside of a drum, but also the drawer for detergents and the seal at the door of the machine.

It is recommended to thoroughly clean the washing machine once every two weeks. Just run the washing machine at the highest possible temperature and add bleach, citric acid or vinegar. Most supermarkets sell descaling tablets for washing machines that help clear up the hard build ups.

Remember, it will be much easier to prevent than to remove mould stains that have already taken root in the washing machine.

    #5 Kitchen sink

Go on then, tell us when you last cleaned the kitchen sink properly?

Usually when a sink starts to smell bad or when it gets clogged, particles of food residue and dirt remain in the pipes and bacteria start to multiply there. So here's why is it so important to clean the sink regularly. Pressurized water can make that dirt move back up. It is worth using a homemade way to avoid this. Place a spoonful of baking soda in the drain, pour some vinegar and leave overnight. In the morning, rinse the drain with boiling water. This is a good way to use when cutting meat, fish or a lot of vegetables.

They are easier to manage and disinfect, shower curtain made of material normally are machine washable, and ideal to be washed once a month. Another method is to soak them in a salt solution or citric acid. Then wipe the curtain dry to get rid of that nasty build up.

Although we use the shower every day, the bacteria can still develop in the showerhead. This can become an ideal home for the development of staphylococcus bacteria, which cause sinus infections, tonsillitis and ear infections. Therefore, before taking a shower, you should rinse the cabin with hot water for at least a minute. It is also worth to soak the shower in a solution of soda or vinegar every 2 weeks for disinfection.
