Polar aurora is an extremely beautiful, but capricious light phenomenon. It can be observed in Scandinavia, Russia, Iceland, Siberia or Greenland. What is interesting, it also occurs in the southern hemisphere. It is called aurora australis and is seen in Australia and New Zealand. The creators of the blog "Capture the Atlas" have been organizing for the past three years now a photo contest of the most spectacular pictures of aurora borealis. Watch the gallery and see where the photographers managed to hunt down the aurora borealis in 2020.
