12 Smart Ways to Rescue Every-Day Items, Seemingly Lost Forever

There is always a way out, even when things look rather hopeless. That's why you should never give up, even if you think you have damaged something beyond repair.
We have collected a few life hacks for you so that even some badly damaged or almost destroyed items could be fixed.
#1 Chewing gum on clothes or in your hair
Just put some ice on the gum and wait a few minutes. You can scratch it off easily then.
#2 Rust
To get rid of rust you have spotted on some metal pieces, you need some cola. Pour the drink into a bowl or another dish deep enough to immerse the rusty object in. After 24-hours it will look factory new.
#3 Removing labels
When you want to remove a label or a tag from the packaging, there is often some glue left. Should that be the case, spray some WD-40 on it and give it a good clean.
#4 Clogged showerhead
If the shower water splashes all over rather randomly, it means there is a hard-water residue problem. To get rid of it, apply some vinegar onto the showerhead and keep it there for 2 hours.
#5 Loose threads
A hair pin will help you take them out and save your sweater.
#6 Marker stains
WD-40 is the agent that solves the problem really well.
#7 Naughty screws
If you have a problem doing up a screw, a rubber band will do the job. It will prevent the screwdriver from slipping off the screw so that you can handle it more easily.
#8 Unzipping trousers
Some zips are particularly fond of undoing, which makes you feel rather embarrassed. A key ring will provide the security you need here, holding the zip done up at all times.
#9 A damaged cable
Cable insulation gets worn out very quickly sometimes. However, instead of buying a new one, all you need to do is to fix the insulation won the spot the wire can be seen. There are dedicated pipes that shrink when exposed to heat. With a hairdryer you can make your cables work again.
#10 Steel stains
Pour some salt onto the stains and rub it with a vinegar-soaked sponge. The objects will look brand new again.
#11 A damaged light bulb
Sometimes the bulb breaks, for example when it's overheated or when we want to take it out. To remove the threaded part left, first disconnect the power supply and warm a top of a plastic bottle. It will adhere to the metal part of the bulb and you will be able to safely remove it.
#12 Pencil sharpener and pegs
This is what you can do using these simple items when there aren't any more advanced tools at hand.
