#1 Freeze butter, garlic or ginger before grating
If the recipe tells you to grate the ingredients, first leave them for 20 minutes inside the freezer. This will make it so much easier.
#2 Freeze onion
If onion moves you more than romantic movies, put them into the freezer for 15 minutes before you slice it.
#3 Freeze herbs in ice cube molds so that they are always at hand
Another great freezing trick; if you have some fresh herbs that might soon go off, chop them and freeze them with olive oil inside ice cube molds.
#4 Too many eggs to boil
If you need to boil a large number of eggs, you can put them into an oven heated up to 160 degrees C and keep them for 30 minutes.
#5 How a microwave makes cutting squashes easy
A spaghetti squash calls for a lot of force to cut it. To make it easier, cut a few short spots in its surface (otherwise it will explode!) and put it into a microwave for 5 minutes. Cutting it will not be such a nuisance.
#6 Make friends with soya sauce
Soya sauce contains a lot of umami which makes it a perfect spice for a number of dishes, including soups, goulashes, pickled vegetables or even popcorn, if added to the butter.
#7 Nothing cools wine better than cold grapes
Instead of diluting with ice, you had better drop there some frozen grapes. It will both look and taste much better.
#8 Warm the tray before you roast
Keep the tray in the oven while it is warming up. Roasting such things as broccolis, salmon, sweet potatoes or chicken will not only take less time, but the dishes will be tastier and more delicate.
#9 A bit of coffee will enrich the flavor of brownie
Chocolate and coffee are a perfect match. So if you want to tune up your brownie's taste, add a spoonful of espresso or other strong coffee.
#10 Recycle the pasta water
Once you sieve the noodles, don't pour it away. This is liquid gold you can use watering beans or to make a DIY bread called foccaci.
#11 Prepare ready-made smoothie sets
Use string bags to freeze ready mixes to prepare delicious the cocktail. All you have to do in the morning is pour some milk or yoghurt and that's it!
